So... It's no longer ( sic ) an ' E.T. ', since that was based on 1,320 feet ( Yes, another purist at heart )
R.I.P. Mr. Kalitta.
What's a fan to do ? Suggest limiting the amount of Nitro allowed in Funny / Top Fuel ? They gotta slow them down somehow ?
Or should Honda monopolize Indycar, and ALSO limit the number of laps allowed on their ( ONLY Their ) engines ?
The ' Creative / Inventive ' individual inventor is being wheedled - out of competition... Slowly, methodically, and surely for good !
The NHRA Needs to modify the facilities to accomodate the competitors... Not the other way around ! 3.785 isn't an E.T. yet ( it's 1000 feet ! )
But it could be, some day !! ... We just got a ' safer tire '.
( I remember when Eddie Hill broke the 300 MPH barrier... like it was yesterday. ) And at the time, we said 300 was impossible !
Fix the tracks. Start racing again. ( We need more ' Granatelli Specials ' at Indy too ! ) ... Reference ' The World's Fastest Indian '.
