SCOTTSDALE - Go Daddy Group Inc. named a new "Go Daddy Girl" Tuesday, promising she'd bring a new meaning to its reputation for "racy'' advertising.
Auto racing star Danica Patrick, a Scottsdale resident, will be sponsored by the Scottsdale-based domain name registrar in the 2007 IndyCar Series racing season.
Other sponsors include Motorola Inc., which will be the major sponsor of Patrick's car; XM Satellite Radio; Argent Mortgage; and AirTran Airways.
Patrick will star in a Go Daddy commercial early next year, chief executive officer Bob Parsons said.
Parsons declined to say whether they would be Super Bowl ads, which earned the company immense publicity the past two years when censors rejected the suggestive initial versions.
"Danica is edgy, innovative and fun. All qualities we identify with at Go Daddy,'' Parsons said.
Patrick's 2007 racecar and new sponsors were unveiled at a media event Tuesday in Chicago. She will drive the Number 7 Team Motorola car for Andretti Green Racing.
Financial terms of the sponsorship deals were not disclosed.
