Just wanted to pop in and say howdy. I won't have a lot of time to post because I just started my own forum a few months ago and am trying to get it off the ground. But, I loooove NASCAR Winston Cup and thought it would be nice to post to a board that has like-minded people. :D

We're all pretty tame here. Every once in awhile it gets rowdy. We all have are favorite drivers and we get on each other about them, but all in good fun.

Hope your new board has a lot of response to it. We like ours.

Mine use to be Dale Earnhardt. From way back when he drove for Wrangler.


Now if you can't guess it Ward Burton, Met him, hugged him, and had my picture taken with him. I would just love to cuddle the little fellow.

Woo Hoo! My second favorite driver is Ward Burton.

Ok, ok... you can have the older brother to cuddle with... I'll take the younger. :L2 (Although my hubby probably won't like the idea... darn. ) I absolutely ADORE the way Ward Burton talks! I know a lot of people make fun of him... but there's just something about the way he speaks that gives me the shivers.

Don't worry about ripping off smilies, some of these were ripped off at another site. Heeheehee. Actually, it's a site with lots of smilies. There are times when I have gone on a smiley rampage and posted about 7-8 threads with nothing but them.

I was Tim Richmond fan, back in the early 80's. Been a Terry fan since about 82. I'm also a Tony Stewart fan. I like most drivers. :walk: :jump: :flame:

I think the only ones that he asks permission to use are his own, they are under the Crack whore smilies section. Near the top. Everything else is fair game, cause he gets them off the net too. Just makes it easier for us to find them. :wave: :wave:

Tim Richmond was a driver in the 80's. He died of AIDS. Nastycar hardly ever recognizes him anymore because of his lifestyle. He got AIDs because he loved women, and he didn't know he was infected with it til the end. Remember this was the time when hardly anything was known about that disease. Nascar rather not be associated with that, I guess.

Regardless, He was a good driver, and who knows what he may have achieved. I, as well as others, say if Tim had lived, Dale may not have had his 7 championships.

Oh that's just so sad! I hate prejudices like that... you would think NASCAR would be above that, since they've had to fight so many prejudices about fans being rednecks, etc.

Dale, Sr. was my husband's favorite driver. I gotta say, when we realized he was dead we both shed a few tears. Racing just isn't the same without him... never will be.

This is a great site by the way... nice people, and good discussions about racing.

Martin6.... I don't have a clue what you mean. :L2 I guess a good read is in order. Do you have a link to a thread that explains what it is? If it's picking a favorite for a race... I know how to do that much.

each week...for the race...we pick ten drivers who we think will do well....the first driver you post should be the one you think will win the race...they do not necessarily have to be in a particular order....just the first one.
the points are tallied at the end of the race and whoever has the least amount of points wins.
This week was a little messed up so you might not want to go to that one to learn the game.....at first we thought Trackrat (my hubby) won...but then when Rumor looked later on at the 'official' results....it turned out that we were way off.......That is a first for us.....we don't normally mess it up like that.
But trackrat and Rumor both came up with the same numbers....because they both were looking at the 'unofficial' results...they were both wrong.
it's very simple and very fun.
I believe the game we used to play over in Frappydoo was almost the same...can't remember exactly...but I'm pretty sure.
