I just don't get it..ya know?........What could they possibly have to gain by lying like this?!
Don't they realize that they're only hurting themselves?!
first the helmet?....now this?!?!
what the hek are they doing over there???
They are just making themselves look bad...ya know what I mean?
I heard something about it again today....it was on the 5:00 am news...they were saying that it was NOT the seatbelt and they said that Nascar refuses to display the belt to be examined.... ???
I don't understand why there are doing this.

Because nascar screwed up with those press conferences after the wreck. Ray Charles could see that belt they showed was not ripped. I mean why can't they admit that they actually goofed. I know wishful thinking.

I've also been reading that they confiscated Ward's helmet. He was wearing Simpson's restraining devices. I guess Nascar doesn't want drivers using simpson products. Ole Bill Simpson must have P--sed them off about something and now he's paying for it.

I don't get it.....so what if they goofed......Who doesn't?!
They could take all this negative focus off of themselves if they just came forward with the truth.

I believe all the drivers have Simpson helmets, only a few now still use the open face. Ward doesn't and he still had a cut on his chin. Hmmmm, something to think about.

The belts are pretty much Simpson as well. The HANS device is not Simpson so I would assume that the attachments may not be Simpson either. But Ward had some other kind of safety restraint that was made by Simpson, I think he's one of the few drivers that don't like the HANS device.

I wish they would all use the HANS....the sport seems to be getting more and more dangerous every season.......Well, I mean it's the same, but lately there have been so many incidents where drivers are getting seriously hurt or, as we all know, killed.
A lot of the veteran drivers do not want to change...not the safety devices or the track speeds or the driving styles...they didn't work so hard and come this far just to change everything around....Make it too safe and it's not worth climbing into the car....ya know what I mean?
and imagine this.......so many people say that auto racing is not a sport.
In my opinion, the racecar drivers should get the kind of salaries that the football and baseball players are getting paid!!
How are those athletes risking thier lives....?....They're not....They are getting paid phenomenal amounts of money just for 'playing a game'!
Our heros/athletes...yes, I said athletes....are getting paid NOT NEARLY enough for risking thier lives every weekend for us....the fans!
