What do you think?? Texas Motor Speedway had 211,000 fans for last weekends race and were turning people away already on Saturday that wanted tickets for Sunday. They have been lobbying for 2 races and have extensive plans to re-do some of the facilities and traffic patterns to accomodate for their huge crowds. Now the biggest obstacle in their efforts has been Jim Hunter ( Now a NASCAR officer, former Darlington president and current ISC bigwig) and this seems to me to be a conflict of interest.
The Darlington track has 2 dates and does not sell out for either and I believe that all but one of the ISC tracks have 2 dates.
On racingone.com there is a poll up where 72 percent of the people that voted think that New Hampshire should not have a second date. The drivers do not much like to race there and it is not a fan friendly facility from what I have heard.
I think New Hampshire for Texas would be a decent trade-off, they surely can not add another weekend to the schedule and the east coast has Watkins Glen, Pocono and Dover.
