What do you think?? Texas Motor Speedway had 211,000 fans for last weekends race and were turning people away already on Saturday that wanted tickets for Sunday. They have been lobbying for 2 races and have extensive plans to re-do some of the facilities and traffic patterns to accomodate for their huge crowds. Now the biggest obstacle in their efforts has been Jim Hunter ( Now a NASCAR officer, former Darlington president and current ISC bigwig) and this seems to me to be a conflict of interest.

The Darlington track has 2 dates and does not sell out for either and I believe that all but one of the ISC tracks have 2 dates.

On racingone.com there is a poll up where 72 percent of the people that voted think that New Hampshire should not have a second date. The drivers do not much like to race there and it is not a fan friendly facility from what I have heard.

I think New Hampshire for Texas would be a decent trade-off, they surely can not add another weekend to the schedule and the east coast has Watkins Glen, Pocono and Dover.

I've been seeing rumblings where Brutie wants to buy Darlington, thus adding the second date to Texas. He closed Wilkesboro to give Texas a date, and he's still griping that he deserves a second date.

Regardless if Darlington is sold or not, I wouldn't be surprised to see the spring races for that track and Rockingham moved to other tracks in the future.

But, I agree with a majority of drivers and fans about New Hampshire. They shouldn't even have the race they do now.

I hate to see any of the old tracks that I grew up with loose races. I also know that business is business and
you have to, or must do what is best for your Co.
I really don't think N.H. will lose dates as nuch as I think they should be shut down until it is made safer for the drivers.
As for me they could do away with the road courses and add those dates somewhere else, I also know that some people like the road courses and would disagree with me.JMO :D

Well if the road courses were involved, I would say do away with them. I do not like those races at all.

Eagle, there's been talk about Darlington and Rockingham for a long time. When they gave Chicago and KC dates, there was talk that those tracks may lose a date. But Nascar gave them new dates, as if the drivers and crews aren't busy enough. I even heard Richmond may lose a date now that France owns it.

They had fixed Homestead after John Nemechek's death, but I don't care for that track. I think they fixed some part of Indy too, they could do the same for NH so they don't have that speed coming out of that corner.

They should bring back N. Wilkesboro!!! :D
