Early NASCAR history

I grew up going to this track. Our high school played football in the infield, we took drivers education here.
About 5 years ago I went in search for the place there was nothing, not even a hint there was ever a track there.
How do you think todays drivers would have liked this place?

I don't see many of the drivers of today doing well at that track. But I bet The Big E would have given it a good run for the money. It's a shame some of the smaller tracks are being taken out of the game, just to please someone elses oversized ego.
