... I spoke with the Director of Programming at Fox 5 in New York City, and it's been confirmed by Fox 5 in New York that while both NASCAR and the Yankees are a priority, on Sunday Afternoons when the Yankees are playing, the Yankees will be shown live, and the NASCAR race will be broadcast tape delayed late that night.
This has also been confirmed for any viewers of the Fox station in New England/Boston, that Red Sox will bump the NASCAR race to late night replay... and I'm also hearing the same will be true with Phillies games in Philadelphia.

For those in the NYC area, here is the information for contacting Fox-5. I know it doesn't do much good to go up against the Yankees Juggernaut, but if you care to, give them a call...

This is not good news for racing fans. I haven't heard anything about what Fox will do here in the Richmond,Va. area but I will most like get b'ball also.
Do you remember ESPN use to do the same thing with the Martinsville race it was tape delayed for the NFL draft,
which was about as interesting as watching grass grow.

I guess I can consider myself lucky than those in NY because if they show the Tigers or the Cubs, they are broadcasted on their respected stations. I may miss qualifying though on Fridays--Guess I better think of upgrading my sports package.

But, to be fair to FOX. This isn't their fault, it's their local affiliate. When the Daytona 500 ran late years ago because of rain, the local CBS station was running a crawl telling people to complain to CBS--they were mad cause Basketball was pre-empted for awhile. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

And yes Eagle, I remember Martinsville being shown tape delayed. And don't forget some of the bgn races being shown tape delayed too because they wanted to show college football or something else.

You know I remember when no races were on TV had to get
it all on radio. Seems every Sunday I was washing my car
listing to the race. Now I get upset if everything isn't
the tube.:D

You should have counted yourself lucky you could get it on the radio. Where I live NASCAR is just a six letters. Were even lucky if the TV Stations or newspaper have any mention of it.
