Martin,
We can always start a Tony defence fund! Hehehe. I wouldn't doubt some fans will send Tony money. They did that when Ricky Rudd hit Jeffers years ago and people felt the fine was harsh. Rudd wanted to return it but the fans kept sending it back so he donated it to charity.
Anyway, I think the fine was fair. Fedewa and Newman got $5,000 fine for their incident a few weeks ago. Tony's was probably high cause it was on pit road and in an area where people were and could have caused injury. I know some people say it's only a drop in the bucket for them.
As for probation, was it fair to be that long? Maybe, maybe not, but I am waiting to see how many drivers decide to test him and get him irritated. That could happen, which is not fair to him. But I did expect him to have probation so that doesn't bother me either.
No one seems to remember Gordon saying last year he would put Tony in the wall when he had a chance. Oh sure, people could say that was in the heat of the moment. Well, so was what Tony did and now he's paying the price.

I'd put in some one but I spent it all to get my dad a birthday present.

I do remember the deal with Tony and Jeff last year!! But that had nothing to do with what happened on Sunday. I watched the replays and if you watch them you will see that Jeff did not crowd Tony he gave him room. Tony came down on Jeff which caused him to spin out. As for what Tony did on pitroad that was totally incalled for there. Because people could have been seriuosly hurt. I am glad to see that Tony said he was sorry. I was surpised to see Tony get probation but not surpised about the fine. Well that's my two cents. LOL!!

c'mon we gotta give Gordon credit this time.....He handled that with class for a change.
and NO, I'm not a Gordon fan.....not exclusively anyway. I enjoy ALL of Nascar....not just my favorite driver.
Well, my excuse for not liking him has always been that he was always bi&*#ing and crying about everything.....but I must say, he has gotten so much better these last two years....Since he hasn't been stinking up every single weekend winning the races, he has gotten much less arrogant and whiny.
I am not surprised at all about Tony getting suspended. When it comes to the safety they don't fool around. He should not have done that on Pit road but I believe he would have been fined regardless of where he did it. The officials made him apologize immediately because things like that makes Nascar look bad....You can't do things like that.
