ESPN Classic is showing some old Daytona 500's today. They showed the 1979 one earlier. That was the first live flag to flag race and also the one where Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison got into the fistfight.
Also, even back then Ken Squier was screwed up. He was calling drivers by the wrong name and still couldn't pronounce Labonte. :fish:
But it was sure cool to see drivers with mutton chop sideburns and Ricky Rudd with a perm. :eek: :eek: :D
