Computer problems abound. This happened the week before CHristmas and I was told it was my modem--So much for them tech guys where mom works. :p
So, of course we don't have a car and can't get to South Bend cause her ride took two weeks off. So here I sit, modemless and bummed.
This past week, went and got a modem, same problem. Took it back, was gonna get an external but they were out of the less expensive ones (IN ONE DAY?!?!?) and mom wasn't paying over $100 for one.
Yesterday, we were walking to the store and the lady that takes her to work saw us--she lives in the park too--and drove us and said her brother builds computers and maybe he could figure it out. What the heck, right? So he come over did a bit of this, a bit of that and I'm back on line with the old modem. DUH!!!!!!
I have no idea what he did, but it works and I ain't complaining. Then I had to go and get a phone cause the phone was going out. Not one thing it's another, isn't it?
Anyhoo, the holidays were OK, I suppose. No, my sweetie and I didn't get to see each other so that was a bummer, but I did get a Tony doll from drafter which is sitting on my computer. The hat is on the couch, preserved for freshness. heheheheheheheehhheee And of course, Louie dying didn't set a good tone. I knew she was dying and when I talked to her a couple weeks before she died, even she knew she didn't have much longer. To be honest, I am (and I know she was too) surprised she lived as long as she did after being diagnosed. She thought she wouldn't even make it to the holidays.
So while I was off line I did a latch hook, started an Earnhardt one for tripleease and another cross stitch, plus worked on some stuff for another project, so it wasn't a total loss. But believe me, I was suffering through severe withdrawals by day 3. :D:D:D
That's it, in a nutshell.

I didn't know there was a time limit for it. Someone hid the good latch hook. Yeah, that's it, the good latch hook has been hid. :p:p:p
