OK, I've givin the Heat demo ample consideration, and now that I've gotten used to the screen movement when ya hit the brakes or accelerator, I think I love it! :) Got a birthday coming up...hmmmmmm maybe I will get lucky and get me a new sim? heeeeeeheeeeeeheeeh.
Is anyone into flying sims? I'm anxiously awaiting the US release of the B-17 II bomber game. In fact, I got a RAM upgrade and a new larger monitor just for that!...(actually the monitor was a early shared christmas gift)....but anyway, if there's not too many reported problems in the UK with the game, I know what else I want from Santa... :D :D :D

What kind of video card you running? Heat has the ability to take advantage of the 3Dfx chipset. I had a 3Dfx card in my old computer now I have an ATI Radeon and the graphics are not nearly as good(still descent, but I get some screen flickers).

As for getting Heat, Outpost.com hs it for 34.95 with free shipping.

I would like to get into flight sims, but they seem like a pain to learn. I got Flight Simulator 2000 and a Wingman Force for christmas last year and I tried it out once and haven't played it since.

That's a great price for HEAT, man. Thanks!

I've got the good ol 12 Meg Voodoo II still and I have very little problems with ANY game. I may upgrade when prices fall. I see that is already happening very quickly!

Seems there are TONS of problems with the B-17 II now. If there is not a patch put out, there's no chance I will gamble. Seems there are random crashes with the game and the devlopers don't know why! I usta play Flight Simulator 98, but there was just so much to learn and not enough there to teach you unless ya print and study all of those help files! If I was trying to get my pilot's license I would probably buy the 2000 version, but other than that, I just get frustrated trying to navigate when I don't know squat about it! A fun flight sim that you can now get for about $14 is Jane's WWII Fighters. It's pretty simple to learn how to use, but the dogfighting is challenging enough to keep you interested.

Chad, would you be looking to part with that Wingman Force?? Is it USB? I'm curious because my old Wingman Intercepter is seriel 15 pin and my computer's port is 9 pin...

...if you are interested in selling, PM, e-mail, or respond to this post...

thanks

...I may also be interested in FS2000.
